Shameless Bragging About Offspring Continues

So... not only did The Eldest Kid defend her thesis to a bunch of professors who were evaluating it today, she got highest honors .

And... The Youngest Kid and her lovely friend from art school are going to organize and sponsor a free market in our little town this spring.

I am ridiculously proud of my smart, funny , gorgeous, and kind daughters. The spouse and I now know what it feels like to nearly burst with pride. Actually we have known that for a long time.

And to think they once looked like this:

Cristin.. We had little to do with it. They came out of the womb awesome and they have been awesome ever since.

Also, Cristin, I don't think you need any classes.

Ruth: I read on Reya's blog about your belief or lack of. I was so curious about this because you align so well with her, with me. I would have never recognized your values without you pointing them out.

It doesn't matter what you believe or don't believe. Your soul is fulfilling its destiny and that is all that matters. It is not for me, or anyone else, to be up in your business and decide that you are right or wrong. No one really knows. Creation shows itself to each individual as they need to see it. Some Jewish, Christian--Catholic, Protestant, Jehova's Witness, Wiccan, Buddhist, Muslim, Athiest. Non-belief is the same as belief in my book. Peace!

Hey Crone51 I don't hate atheists! Not at all. I have really great friends who don't believe in anything. It's just hard to converse with them because our values are so different, based on such different ideas of the world.

Many Christians, too, believe (are taught) that Christianity is the only true religion, as are people of many faiths. It's that thought form of there's only one way to look at the world I find difficult.

But I respect everyone's opinion and take on the world. I believe the world needs diversity in faith as well as in the biosphere. I want to make room for atheism, definitely. I just don't know how to talk to you.

Very sorry to offend. It was not my intention.

I wasn't offended, Reya. Just offering my view.

I used to be " spiritual"- Neo Pagant) ( after being raised as a fairly liberal Christian) but I let that go years ago too. Because of what I perceived as an extreme lack of evidence. I don't want to believe. I want to know stuff. Seems like Science is as good a tool as we have for figuring out what stuff is all about. Everything else is totally subjective.

You don't know how to talk to me? I am not sure what that means. I am a human being with morals and values same as anyone. I don't see how being a non believer means that my values are so different that you can't talk to me. That's ...odd. Never mind.

Whoops.. that T after Pagan should not be there.
